Kill Marks Engraved on Shahed-136 Following Successful Operations
WANA (Mar 30) – Following a series of successful missions carried out by the Shahed-136 drone, newly released images show “kill marks” engraved on its body, representing various targets it has reportedly destroyed—an action that is seen as documenting the drone’s operational record.
According to the report, one of the most significant developments in the recent conflict was the reported destruction of a strategic Boeing E-3 Sentry airborne early warning (AWACS) aircraft. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on the evening of Sunday, March 29, that the aircraft had been targeted and destroyed by a Shahed-136 drone.
The released images not only reference this operation but also indicate multiple other recorded targets. Based on the available information, the Shahed-136 has reportedly struck and destroyed advanced radar systems, including the AN/MPQ-65 (associated with the Patriot PAC-3 system), AN/TPY-2 (THAAD system), and AN/FPS-132 (a long-range early warning radar with a range of up to 5,000 kilometers).
Military analysts view the engraving of such markings on the drone’s body as a symbolic representation of its operational achievements and battlefield effectiveness—an aspect that has drawn increasing attention amid ongoing regional developments.
