Kuwait Summons Iranian Ambassador
WANA (May 12) – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran today following the issuance of a statement regarding an alleged incident.
According to reports, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement this afternoon that the Iranian ambassador was summoned and handed a formal note of protest.
In its justification for the summons, the ministry alleged that the move followed what it described as “an infiltration by a group from the Revolutionary Guard into Bubiyan and their subsequent clash with Kuwaiti forces.”
Earlier this morning, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior had issued a statement claiming that a group linked to the Revolutionary Guard attempted to enter Bubiyan Island.
