Larijani Condemns Assassination of Senior Hezbollah Commander
WANA (Nov 24) – Iran’s National Security Chief, Ali Larijani, extended condolences following the assassination of Haitham Ali Tabatabaei, a Senior Hezbollah commander, and wrote on his account on X:
“On the night of the martyrdom of Lady Fatemeh Zahra (peace be upon her), one of the sincere followers of her path, the mujahid brother Haitham Ali Tabatabaei, a senior Hezbollah commander, along with several of his comrades, was martyred by the criminal Zionists.”
He added: “They achieved their goal, but Netanyahu continues his reckless adventurism, making it clear that there is no option left but to confront this illegitimate entity. I offer my condolences on this blessed martyrdom to the Secretary-General of Hezbollah and its ranks of mujahideen.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran also strongly condemned the Israeli strike targeting residential areas in Beirut and the assassination of senior Hezbollah commander Haytham Ali Tabatabai.
In a statement late on Sunday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry called the strike a “gross violation” of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement and a “brutal attack” on Lebanon’s sovereignty.
The ministry emphasized the necessity of holding criminal Israeli leaders accountable for “terrorist acts” and war crimes.
According to Lebanese authorities, Israeli attacks have killed nearly 4,000 people and displaced over 1.2 million residents across the country since October 2023.
