Oman’s official news agency reported that during today’s meeting between Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and the Sultan of Oman, in addition to reviewing the latest developments in Iran-U.S. nuclear negotiations, the importance of returning to the negotiating table to resolve differences was emphasized.
Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, described Larijani’s travels to these two regional countries as pre-planned and in line with Iran’s policy of good neighborly relations and ongoing regional consultations.
In response to questions about a potential meeting between Larijani and U.S. officials in Muscat, Baghaei emphasized that the visit is part of Larijani’s regular consultations with neighboring countries and should not be automatically linked to unrelated events, such as the arrival of a U.S. aircraft from Cyprus.
Upon his arrival in Muscat, Larijani also met with Lieutenant General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’mani, Oman’s Minister of the Royal Office.
