Larijani: Iran–Pakistan cooperation helps promote regional peace
WANA (Nov 25) – The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said that cooperation between Iran and Pakistan contributes to regional peace.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in Pakistan, Ali Larijani added that Pakistan is an important country in the region and holds a distinguished position in shaping regional security conditions.
He noted that Iran’s eastern neighbor also plays a cultural role, and that the two countries have long enjoyed deep and historic relations.
The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council arrived at Rawalpindi’s Nur Khan military airport early Tuesday morning, where he was received by Pakistani officials.
In a post on X on Monday referring to his trip to Pakistan, Larijani wrote: “Iranians will not forget that during the 12-day war waged by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran, the people of Pakistan stood alongside the people of Iran.”
He added that Iran and Pakistan are two important and influential countries for ensuring lasting security in the region, and that Iran has always valued the brotherly relations among regional nations.
