Larijani: Iran to End All Negotiations; NPT Withdrawal Should Be Considered
WANA (Mar 25) – Mohammad Javad Larijani, a conservative political figure, stated that Iran will no longer engage in any negotiations over its nuclear or missile programs, and called for a review of the country’s membership in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Speaking in a televised program, he said that from now on, no form of negotiation on nuclear or missile issues will be on the agenda, adding that he had opposed such talks even in the past, arguing that these matters were not the concern of other parties.
Larijani also emphasised that Iran’s participation in the NPT should be suspended and reviewed. He proposed forming a committee to assess whether the treaty serves the country’s interests, noting that Iran could return to it if deemed beneficial, but otherwise should withdraw.
