Larijani: Iranians Do Not “Surrender”
WANA (Aug 22) – Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in a detailed interview explained the country’s key challenges after the halt of hostilities, stressing: “Iranians do not surrender, and the enemy must understand it cannot force this nation into retreat through pressure or war.”
National Unity and Deterrence
Larijani said the most important factor in preventing the return of war is national cohesion: “In the twelve-day war, the Iranian people showed that despite differing opinions, they stand united in defending the country.”

Defense Readiness and Addressing Weaknesses
According to him, the Supreme National Security Council has established a “Defense Council” to fix shortcomings and strengthen missile, air defense, and radar capabilities: “In this war the enemy suffered a strategic defeat, but we also had weaknesses which we are now addressing.”
Will There Be Another War?
Larijani said the answer depends on the enemy’s behavior: “We must enhance our defense capability to the point that the enemy does not even think of taking action again. The war has not ended — only the shooting has stopped. Therefore, everyone must remain prepared.”

Iran Ready; The Region in Motion!
WANA (Aug 22) – With about a week left until the deadline of the snapback mechanism, everyone is scrambling. At the same time, the pace of developments in the region has accelerated. Talks are underway between Iran and European parties, but Iran refuses to bow to pressure. Russia and China have officially challenged the credibility […]
The Role of Leadership
He described the Supreme Leader’s measures in managing the war as “decisive”, emphasizing: “In major crises, we must stand behind the Leader and avoid divisions or attrition.”
Diplomacy and Negotiation
Larijani called diplomacy an essential tool: “Iran will never abandon the banner of negotiation, but real talks only happen when the other side realizes the Iranian nation will not surrender under war. Negotiations that are merely a pretext for pressure are pointless.”

The Resistance Front
He rejected claims that resistance groups have been weakened: “If resistance were weak, why is there so much pressure against it? These pressures prove resistance is strong, and the more oppression and occupation increase, the deeper resistance will become.”
