WANA (Aug 11) – On Monday, Ali Larijani, Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) continued his visit to Iraq with a meeting with the country’s president, Abdul Latif Rashid.

As part of his engagements with senior Iraqi officials, Larijani also held discussions with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani.

Signing of Iran-Iraq Joint Security Agreement

A joint security memorandum between Iran and Iraq was signed by Larijani and al-Araji, with Prime Minister al-Sudani attending the ceremony.

 

Ali Larijani, who also serves as the Representative of the Supreme Leader in the SNSC, had earlier met with Iraq’s National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji.

 

During their talks, al-Araji stressed that the Iraqi government is firmly committed to preventing any security breaches aimed at aggression against its neighboring countries.
