WANA (Feb 17) – Sergey Tsivilev, Russia’s Minister of Energy, met on Sunday with Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, emphasizing Iran’s strategic position in Russia’s foreign policy.

 

During the meeting, the Russian minister described the atmosphere of bilateral talks and economic cooperation as positive and underlined Moscow’s continued partnership with Tehran under various circumstances, particularly in the economic and energy sectors.

 

Larijani, for his part, referred to the outstanding level of relations between Iran and Russia, describing their cooperation as going beyond conventional ties.

 

He noted that both countries have faced similar pressures and restrictions from Western nations in recent years, but said such pressures have failed to halt their strategic collaboration.

 

The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council also pointed to the determination of the two countries’ leaders to elevate cooperation, stressing the need to remove practical obstacles and streamline administrative processes to advance joint projects.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, Tsivilev expressed appreciation for Larijani’s detailed follow-up efforts and emphasized the importance of continued close coordination to accelerate the implementation of agreements.
