WANA (Aug 13) – The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council met with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Wednesday evening.

Earlier, Ali Larijani had also held meetings with the Lebanese President and the Speaker of Parliament.

Speaking to reporters this evening, Larijani emphasized: “As the person responsible for my country’s national security, I say clearly that Iran has no intention of interfering in the affairs of other countries, including Lebanon. If the Lebanese government holds talks with different sects and reaches an agreement, we will support that.”

He added: “The ones interfering in Lebanon’s affairs are those who, from thousands of kilometers away, present you with a plan and set a timetable for its implementation.”
