WANA (Jul 06) – The body of Iran’s late leader arrived in the holy city of Qom on Monday evening after farewell and funeral ceremonies held on July 4, 5 and 6 in Tehran.

 

According to the announced schedule, funeral prayers will be held over the body at Jamkaran Mosque at around 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, before the funeral procession moves toward the Shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh.

 

The program for the ceremonies in Qom is as follows:

 

  • Farewell ceremony: From dawn on Tuesday at Jamkaran Mosque.
  • Funeral prayers: Around 6:00 a.m.
  • Funeral procession: From Jamkaran Mosque to the Shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh.

 

The bodies of Iran’s late leader and his family members will then be transferred to Iraq, where farewell and funeral ceremonies are scheduled to be held in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala on Wednesday, July 8.

 

Following the ceremonies in Iraq, the final funeral procession will take place in the holy city of Mashhad on Thursday, July 9, 2026, where the late leader will be laid to rest at the shrine of Imam Reza.
