WANA (Jun 22) – Sources familiar with the matter report that the four-party negotiations involving Iran and the United States in Geneva remain suspended, while mediation efforts have so far failed to produce a final breakthrough.

 

According to available information, the meeting between Iran and the United States within the framework of the four-party talks began at approximately 3:00 p.m. (Iran’s local time) and was paused after around one and a half hours for a 30-minute consultation break among the delegations.

 

However, following what were described as threatening and offensive remarks by Donald Trump, the Iranian delegation declined to return to the negotiations, pushing the talks into a state of suspension.

 

Meanwhile, mediation efforts by Qatar and Pakistan continued, with messages being exchanged between the parties through intermediary channels. Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, informed sources stated that no final agreement or outcome has yet been reached.

 

During the four-party session, the Iranian delegation reportedly voiced strong objections over what it described as violations of commitments, particularly concerning the first clause of the memorandum of understanding.

 

The Iranian side also called for the acceleration of U.S. commitments related to the release of Iran’s frozen assets and the issuance of authorizations concerning Iranian oil exports.

 

Regarding the nuclear issue, the Iranian delegation emphasized that any negotiations on the nuclear file would be contingent upon the implementation of U.S. commitments under clauses 1, 4, 10, and 11 of previous agreements.
