WANA (Jan 31) – The CEO of Tehran’s Behesht Zahra Cemetery Organization said a burial site outside the capital has been prepared as part of contingency plans for potential foreign aggression.

Mohammad Javad Tajik stated that the move is part of broader crisis-management planning and hypothetical war scenarios, emphasizing that the organization is legally required to prepare for various emergencies.

He noted that, unlike historical cases where foreign troops were buried inside cities, the designated site is entirely outside Tehran.

Tajik added that in scenarios involving a possible ground or airborne invasion, up to 5,000 temporary graves have been prepared for invading forces, including American soldiers, pending final decisions.

He said no images or detailed documentation were released to avoid unnecessary media sensationalism, stressing that the measure reflects preparedness rather than an immediate security situation.

Yemeni Scholars Call for Support of Iran

Amid U.S. threats of military action against Iran, the Yemeni Scholars’ Association announced its full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and called on clerics across the Islamic world to publicly declare their brotherly support for the country.

The association urged its “brothers in Iran” to maintain their steadfastness and not to yield to any demands by the United States, Israel, and the West.

It also called on the governments, peoples, and armies of the Islamic world to abandon silence and neutrality in the face of what it described as threats facing the Muslim world, particularly Iran.

In a statement, the association said: “We call on the Islamic world to fully mobilize, prepare themselves, and respond to the Quranic call for jihad in the way of God.”

WANA (Jan 31) – Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani announced that the city plans to convert underground parking lots into shelters so residents will know where to go in their neighborhoods during crises.

Responding to a question about Tehran’s preparedness for a potential war, Zakani said, “God willing, no war will occur, but we are fully prepared. Measures have been taken at the national level. We hope a war never happens, but in any case, the city administration stands ready alongside other authorities. All organizations are working together to shoulder this responsibility. We do not seek war in any way, but if it occurs, we are ready.”

WANA (Jan 31) – Rising tensions between Iran and the United States have increased the likelihood that both sides could enter a more costly phase, including the possibility of military confrontation.

Alongside diplomatic and military maneuvers, deterrent messages and actions have been exchanged at various levels, suggesting that the scenario of conflict—at least in the calculations of both parties—is being taken more seriously than before.

Within this context, several points can be noted regarding a potential Iran–U.S. conflict:

  1. The likelihood of confrontation has increased.
  2. Messages have been sent from Iran to countries ranging from Central Asia to West Asia, warning against providing assistance to the United States.
  3. Iran’s armed forces are on full alert, and tactical plans have been rehearsed and are ready for implementation.
  4. There is internal consensus within Iran’s governing system on responding in a comprehensive manner.

WANA (Jan 31) – Major General Hatami, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, stated that Iran’s missile and air defense capabilities have not only remained intact following the “12-day war,” but have in fact reached a stronger and more advanced position compared to the period prior to the conflict.

Referring to the strategic outcomes of the short yet intense confrontation, he emphasized that Iran’s armed forces gained a rare and unique understanding of modern warfare—an experience that, in his words, even some major military powers engaged in prolonged conflicts have not acquired.

Comparing Iran’s experience with ongoing global conflicts, the Iranian army chief noted that even Russia, which has been engaged in a large-scale confrontation with NATO member states for more than three years, has not undergone an experience comparable to what Iran faced during those 12 days.

Major General Hatami explained that Iran confronted a broad spectrum of advanced technologies, hybrid warfare tactics, and the scientific and operational capacities of its adversaries. This direct engagement, he said, enabled Iranian forces to clearly identify both the strengths and weaknesses of the enemy, as well as their own capabilities and shortcomings.

In conclusion, the Commander-in-Chief stressed that Iran’s defensive structure has reached a level of sustainable deterrence that is “not destroyable.” He also underscored that enemy movements are being continuously monitored, warning that any miscalculation or hostile action would be met with a firm and powerful response from Iran.

Russia and China’s Approach to Rising Tensions Between Iran and the United States

Iran.Russia.China

WANA (Jan 31) – As tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate, increasing attention has been directed toward the positions and actions of Eastern powers, particularly Russia and China.

Recent developments indicate that beyond public statements and diplomatic rhetoric, both countries are sending clear strategic and operational signals by providing tangible support to Iran and reinforcing deterrence against the United States—signals that carry significant military, security, and political implications.

  1. Contrary to media claims, Russia and China are providing Iran with effective military and security assistance.
  2. Russia and China view any confrontation with Iran as a precursor to a broader conflict involving themselves.
  3. This week, a joint naval exercise involving live-fire drills will be held in the Persian Gulf with the participation of Iran, Russia, and China.
  4. China’s presence in the Persian Gulf at this time constitutes a military message directed at the United States.
  5. The large-scale march by the people of Tehran following recent unrest has had a significant impact on Russia’s and China’s stance.
