Law Enforcement Officer Killed in Southeastern Iran
WANA (Jan 07) – One security officer was killed following a shooting by unidentified armed individuals targeting a member of the Iranshahr Law Enforcement Command in Sistan and Baluchestan province, southeastern Iran.
The Information Center of the Sistan and Baluchestan Law Enforcement Command reported the shooting incident, stating that an unnamed individual or individuals opened fire on one of the “diligent personnel” of the Iranshahr Law Enforcement Command.
The center subsequently confirmed the death of the officer, noting that efforts are underway to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators of the crime.
According to the latest reports, the terrorist group known as Jaish al-Adl has officially claimed responsibility for the assassination of a local security officer.
In a statement released on social media, the group confirmed it carried out the attack targeting Mahmoud Haghighat, a member of the security forces in Iranshahr.
