WANA (Apr 09) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot held a telephone conversation on Thursday to address the latest developments regarding regional tensions and the status of the ceasefire.

 

During the exchange, Araghchi detailed the recent military escalations involving the United States and Israel against Iran. He criticized the continued military operations in Lebanon, describing them as a severe violation of the ceasefire.

 

The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that the cessation of attacks in the region and Lebanon remains an inseparable part of the ceasefire agreement, noting that this position has been reinforced by Pakistani mediators.

 

Araghchi further stressed the necessity for a serious response and intervention from the international community.

 

He specifically called upon European nations to take decisive action to halt Israeli military operations against Lebanon.

 

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot welcomed the cessation of hostilities and expressed hope that continued negotiations would lead to lasting stability and peace across the region.

 

Barrot also reaffirmed the necessity of stopping Israeli attacks against Lebanon to ensure the preservation of the current truce.
