WANA (Jun 15) – Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, has extended his gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its steadfast insistence on including a vital clause in its agreement with the United States that mandates an immediate halt to Israeli aggression against Lebanon.

 

Berri welcomed the newly announced accord between Iran and the United States, while praising the diplomatic efforts of Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt in facilitating the understanding.

 

He noted that the provisions of the agreement are designed to consolidate security and stability across both the wider region and Lebanon.

 

The Parliament Speaker expressed his deep appreciation to Iran and the United States for their persistence in anchoring the core clause—the termination of the Israeli regime’s operations against Lebanon—firmly into the finalized text.

 

Berri emphasized that this specific provision fully safeguards Lebanese sovereignty without infringing upon its independence or national decision-making freedom. Furthermore, he noted that the clause successfully prevents Lebanon from falling into the strategic trap laid by Israeli political authorities.

 

The Speaker’s remarks follow the announcement of the Iran-U.S. peace accord, which features a binding American commitment to halt all Israeli military operations across all active fronts, including Lebanon.
