Limited Damage Reported at Fordow Enrichment Site
WANA (Jun 14) – Following recent Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, including the Fordow enrichment site, Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), reported limited damage in specific areas of the Fordow facility. He emphasized there is no concern regarding radiation contamination.
In a televised interview on Friday night, Kamalvandi stated, “The Fordow enrichment site sustained minor damage in certain areas due to the attack. There is no significant structural or environmental impact.”
Addressing the situation at the Natanz facility, he said, “Today, we faced several attacks in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. The affected parts in Natanz were mostly above-ground installations. The core infrastructure, located underground, remains intact. A small internal leak was detected, but it did not spread externally. The public can rest assured – there is no danger.”
Kamalvandi further noted that due to prior risk assessments, critical equipment and materials had already been relocated from high-risk areas. “In Isfahan, a few warehouses were hit and caught fire, but overall, no widespread damage occurred,” he said.
Reassuring the public, Kamalvandi added, “Thankfully, there have been no casualties at any of the nuclear sites. We assure the noble people of Iran that despite the damage, our nuclear industry has proven resilient. In previous incidents, we have managed to rebuild even better. With our skilled experts, advanced technology, and determination, we will fully recover and continue moving forward.”
