WANA (Jul 10) – The body of the late Iranian leader Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei has been laid to rest near the shrine of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Reza in the holy city of Mashhad, following the six-day historic farewell ceremonies in five cities early hours of Friday, July 10.

WANA (Jul 09) – Iranian authorities said the six-day farewell and funeral ceremonies for the slain Leader of the Islamic Revolution, held in Tehran, Qom, Najaf, Karbala, and Mashhad, drew an estimated 41–43 million participants.
Officials said the estimate is based on public transportation data, mobile phone activity, crowd-density calculations, and attendance figures from Iraq, including an official estimate of 10 million participants in Najaf and Karbala.

WANA (Jul 09) – The funeral procession for Iran’s late leader has officially concluded in the city of Mashhad. Following the end of the procession, mourners have gathered at the Imam Reza Shrine and the surrounding streets, awaiting the funeral prayer over the body of the martyred leader and his family.
After the prayer ceremony, the official burial of the bodies will begin at the Dar al-Dhikr portico within the shrine complex.

WANA (Jul 09) – Major General Abdollahi, commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said in a message that the funeral and farewell ceremony for the late leader will be remembered in history as a symbol of grandeur, insight, faith, jihad, and resistance.
He also stated that Iran’s armed forces, relying on God and with the support of Muslim nations and freedom-seeking peoples, “will take revolutionary action that will deprive the enemy of sleep” and that those responsible for what he described as the terrorist crimes “will sooner or later face retribution.”
Body of Iran’s Late Leader Transferred to Imam Reza Shrine by Helicopter
WANA (Jul 09) – Due to the large crowds along Imam Reza Street in Mashhad, authorities changed the funeral procession plans for Iran’s late leader and his family.
The vehicle carrying the bodies left the main procession route near Danesh Intersection and headed to Ferdowsi Field, where they were transferred by helicopter to the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza for the funeral prayers.

According to the planned schedule, the vehicle was redirected to the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza, where funeral prayers are scheduled to be held.
Funeral Organizers Announce Imam Reza Shrine at Full Capacity
WANA (Jul 09) – The organizing committee for the funeral of Iran’s late leader announced that all courtyards and porticos of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza have reached full capacity, urging pilgrims and mourners to avoid the heavily crowded areas and the Bab al-Reza and Bab al-Javad entrances.
According to the committee, funeral prayers for the martyred leader and the other victims will be held in the Prophet Muhammad Courtyard and other areas of the shrine complex. With the shrine at full capacity, worshippers will be able to join the prayers from Imam Reza Street as well as Shirazi, Navab Safavi, and Tabarsi streets.

WANA (Jul 09) – Iranian Air Force fighter jets are flying over Mashhad to provide aerial security during the funeral procession for the late leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution.
According to reports, Army fighter aircraft conducted flights over the streets leading to the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza as part of security measures for the funeral ceremony. Earlier, two MiG-29 fighter jets flew over the procession route above the streets filled with mourners in Mashhad.
