WANA (Apr 04) – The Secretary-General of Iran’s Public Libraries Organization reported that 55 libraries across 12 provinces have suffered significant damage due to attacks by U.S. and Israeli forces.

 

Two libraries were completely destroyed: the Seyed al-Shohada Library at Hosseiniyeh Azam in Zanjan and the Border Garrison Library in Dehloran, Ilam Province.

WANA (Apr 04) – The President of Iran’s Red Crescent Society reported extensive damage to civilian areas and critical infrastructure in several provinces following airstrikes between April 3–4, 2026. He condemned these attacks as clear violations of international humanitarian law.

 

Pirhossein Kolivand stated that between 8:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, and 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, airstrikes struck Bushehr, Tehran, Zanjan, Fars, Lorestan, and Hormozgan provinces. Yadollah Rahmani, the governor of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, stated that there has been no reliable news regarding the capture or identification of an American pilot who was believed to be in the province.

 

He also described some claims about the rescue of one of the pilots as “lacking logical coherence,” noting that if such an operation had taken place, the same helicopters deployed should have carried out the extraction—helicopters that, according to reports, were themselves involved in an incident.

WANA (Apr 04) – The hacker group “Handala” has claimed it exposed the identities of 50 senior officers affiliated with Unit 9900, an Israeli military intelligence division.

 

According to statements released on Saturday, the group said this marks the first time such a large number of senior personnel from the unit have been identified publicly.

 

Unit 9900 is considered one of the most advanced geospatial intelligence divisions globally, specializing in the analysis of drone and satellite imagery as well as 3D mapping to gather strategic intelligence. The unit’s capabilities are reportedly used in various military operations, including targeted assassination strikes.

 

The Handala group described the alleged leak as the end of what it called the “myth of invincibility” surrounding the unit, and characterized the move as a warning to participants in cyber warfare.

WANA (Apr 04) – Major General Esmail Qaani, in a message criticizing the performance of U.S. forces in the region, said that the commander of the aircraft carrier “Gerald Ford” refrained from passing through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait due to fear of Yemeni forces, and after two weeks of wandering, left the Red Sea region with what he described as a “fabricated story.”

 

Addressing Donald Trump, he added that Trump should also dismiss the commander of the vessel, emphasizing that the ultimate fate of U.S. forces in the region will be “fleeing the region.”

WANA (Apr 04) – Iran’s embassy in the United Kingdom has criticized Western countries over what it described as a double standard in their approach to “international law,” in response to remarks by the European Union’s foreign policy chief.

 

In a statement, the embassy questioned how international law applies to U.S. and Israeli military actions, pointing to cases such as attacks on sovereign countries and the assassination of their leaders.

 

It also referred to an attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, which it said resulted in the deaths of 170 students, as well as strikes on civilian infrastructure, including pharmaceutical factories and desalination facilities, describing these as examples of violations of international law.
