Only Iran Has the Authority to Clear Mines in the Strait of Hormuz
WANA (Jun 29) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs has reaffirmed that, under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, mine clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz are the sole responsibility of Iran. He said Tehran will not allow any foreign country, including France, to take part in the process and stressed that all navigation routes during the transitional period will be determined exclusively by Iran.
Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, responded to recent remarks by French President Emmanuel Macron suggesting that France could cooperate with its partners on mine clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz. Gharibabadi said that, under Article 5 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, responsibility for mine clearance rests exclusively with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Trump Claims U.S. and Iranian Representatives Will Meet in Doha on Tuesday
WANA (Jun 29) – U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that representatives from the United States and Iran will meet in Doha on Tuesday, despite earlier statements from Iran’s Foreign Ministry denying that any technical talks are scheduled to take place in Qatar.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “Iran requested a meeting. It will be held tomorrow in Doha.”

IRGC Urges Vessels Transiting the Strait of Hormuz to Use Only Iran-Designated Shipping Route
WANA (Jun 29) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has once again warned vessels transiting the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz that all maritime traffic must use the shipping route designated by Iran, stating that any vessel departing from this route will bear full responsibility for the consequences.
The designated navigation corridor, located south of Larak Island, remains the only approved route for vessel transit, with the IRGC Navy continuing to oversee compliance with these navigation procedures.

Iran Denies Reports of Technical Talks with the U.S. Scheduled for This Week
WANA (Jun 29) – Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs and the country’s senior negotiator, has dismissed media reports claiming that technical talks between Iran and the United States are set to take place in Doha, stating that no such meetings have been scheduled for this week.
Responding to reporters’ questions about the technical working groups established under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding on ending the recent conflict, Gharibabadi said that no technical meetings have been planned for the current week.

Cargo Transport at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee Port Returns to Pre-War Levels
WANA (Jun 29) – Cargo transportation at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee Port has returned to pre-war levels, according to the Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Hormozgan Province, who said the flow of essential goods and industrial raw materials has resumed normal operations.
Hussein Abbasnejad said that during the first five days of the war, more than 59,570 tons of essential goods and factory raw materials were shipped across Iran using the port’s logistics capacity and the rail network to help meet market demand.
