WANA (Mar 17) – A U.S. defence publication has acknowledged that the United States lost a significant portion of its advanced drone fleet during the conflict with Iran.

 

According to Air & Space Forces Magazine, approximately 10 percent of the U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drones were destroyed in the course of the fighting. This comes despite earlier claims by Donald Trump that Iran’s military capabilities had been “eliminated.”

 

Previously, CBS News had also reported that at least three of these drones were downed during an operation in Iran. The latest report suggests that the scale of damage to the U.S. drone fleet may be greater than initially estimated.

 


Over 1,350 Injured Minors Reported in “Ramadan War,” Says Iran Health Ministry

 

WANA (Mar 17) – A spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Health has announced that, according to the latest figures, more than 1,350 of those injured in the conflict referred to as the “Ramadan War” are under the age of 18. The figure, he said, highlights the significant impact of the violence on civilians, particularly children.

 

Hossein Kermanpour stated in a media interview that as of 12:00 p.m. today (local time), the total number of injured has reached several thousand, including more than 3,200 women. He noted that the youngest injured victim is a one-month-old infant in Tehran, while the oldest is a 94-year-old woman from Kurdistan Province.

 


Senior Armed Forces Spokesman Issues Warning to U.S. Over Kharg Island

Iran’s Foreign Minister Slams U.S. Defense Secretary, Accuses Him of ‘Moral Bankruptcy’

WANA (Mar 17) – Iran’s Foreign Minister reacted early Tuesday (March 17) to remarks made by the U.S. Secretary of Defense regarding Iran, sharply criticizing his statements.

 

Seyed Abbas Araghchi wrote: “When the U.S. Secretary of Defense speaks of acting ‘without mercy,’ he is not demonstrating strength. Rather, he is exposing his moral bankruptcy and his ignorance of the laws of war.”

 

He added: “We advise him to study the Hague Conventions and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court—unless he intends to join Netanyahu as a war criminal.”

 


IRGC Launches 57th Wave Targeting Israeli Missile Systems

 

WANA (Mar 17) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the execution of the 57th wave of Operation “True Promise 4,” targeting sites deep inside Israeli-controlled territories.

 

According to a statement issued by the IRGC’s Public Relations Office, this phase of the operation struck communication infrastructure related to missile command and control systems, as well as missile defense networks, using precise, precision-guided weaponry.

WANA (Mar 17) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has rejected media claims regarding alleged communication with Steve Witkoff, the U.S. President’s special envoy.

 

In a statement posted early Tuesday on his account on X, Araghchi said his last contact with Witkoff occurred before Washington’s decision to “kill diplomacy” and launch another unlawful military strike against Iran.

 

He added that any reports suggesting otherwise are “designed to mislead oil buyers and public opinion.”

WANA (Mar 17) – An emergency situation was declared at Ben Gurion Airport early Tuesday following a reported request for an emergency landing by a damaged U.S. aerial refueling aircraft, according to Israeli media reports.

 

The aircraft was reportedly engaged in refueling U.S. and Israeli fighter jets during ongoing operations when it was allegedly struck and damaged by Iranian missiles.

 

Following the incident, authorities at Ben Gurion Airport activated emergency protocols as the aircraft sought permission to land.
