WANA (May 10) – The Deputy Foreign Minister stated today that the Strait of Hormuz is not the common property of extra-regional powers, asserting that the presence of French and British warships, or any other country, for potential accompaniment of the U.S. in this strait will be met with a decisive and immediate response from Iran’s armed forces.
Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy for Legal and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated today (Sunday): “France has announced that it has sent the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle toward the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden to prepare for a future joint cooperation mission between France and England with the aim of strengthening freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz region.”

Pezeshkian: We Will Never Bow to the Enemy
WANA (May 10) – President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) regarding Iran’s diplomatic stance:
“We will never bow to the enemy,” the President stated. “If there is talk of dialogue or negotiation, it does not signify surrender or retreat. Rather, the goal is to realize the rights of the Iranian nation and to authoritatively defend our national interests.”
Iran Submits Formal Response to U.S. Proposal
WANA (May 10) – The Islamic Republic of Iran has officially submitted its response to the latest U.S.-proposed text aimed at de-escalating and terminating the current regional war. The response was delivered today via the Pakistani mediator.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously indicated on several occasions that Tehran’s specific viewpoints and considerations regarding the American proposal would be shared only after a thorough internal review and final consolidation of the government’s position.

This follows a May 4 incident where Iranian armed forces intercepted the vessel and forced it to turn back. The Mdl Toofan marks the second ship to comply with Iran’s established transit route since yesterday, signaling heightened Iranian control over the strategic waterway.

Maritime Incident Reported Near Doha
WANA (May 10) – A bulk carrier operating in the waters near Doha was struck by an unidentified projectile earlier today, according to a report from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).
The impact reportedly sparked a fire on board the vessel, though crew members were able to successfully extinguish the flames.
