WANA (May 24) – Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s representative to international organizations in Vienna, said demands to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program are contrary to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
In a post published Sunday night on X, Ulyanov stated that the same principle also applies to uranium enrichment, stressing that such demands are inconsistent with the provisions of the NPT.
He further emphasized that there is nothing wrong with nuclear programs in non-nuclear states as long as they do not have a military dimension and remain under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Iran has repeatedly maintained that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful.
Latest Speculations Surrounding Ceasefire Negotiations
WANA (May 24) – As negotiations aimed at ending the war and reducing regional tensions continue, the latest reports indicate that Iran has delivered its final proposal to the American side through mediators, leaving Washington responsible for the next move. Sources familiar with the talks say Tehran has attempted to present “practical and realistic” proposals at this stage — proposals that analysts believe could serve as a test of the United States’ willingness to reach an agreement.
At the same time, several foreign media outlets have circulated claims regarding the possible terms of a deal, including allegations about a 10-year suspension of uranium enrichment or the transfer of Iranian nuclear materials abroad. However, informed sources have dismissed these reports as inaccurate, stressing that such issues are not part of Iran’s proposals.

What Is Still Blocking an Iran–U.S. Deal?
WANA (May 24) – Recent developments surrounding negotiations between Iran and the United States suggest less a path toward a final agreement and more a complex, multilayered process still burdened by major disagreements. While Tehran and Washington appear to have moved closer to a mutual understanding in certain areas, significant gaps remain on the most critical issues.
Contrary to the narrative promoted by some media outlets about an “imminent agreement,” accounts from sources close to the negotiations indicate that no final deal has yet been reached. From the Iranian perspective, the possibility of the talks collapsing is still considered entirely realistic.
