IRGC Downs U.S. Drone, Warns of ‘Definitive Right to Retaliate’ Over Ceasefire Violations
WANA (May 26) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its air defense units intercepted three American aircraft that entered Iranian airspace over the Persian Gulf, shooting down an MQ-9 Reaper drone and firing at two other military planes.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, the IRGC warned the United States against compromising the current regional truce, stating that it considers the right to cross-border retaliation “legitimate and definitive” in the face of any ceasefire violations by American forces.
According to the military communique, IRGC radar and air defense networks detected an MQ-9 Reaper drone, an RQ-4 Global Hawk drone, and an F-35 Lightning II fighter jet violating Iranian sovereign airspace. Azizi: Deal Will Not End Structural Conflict with U.S.
WANA (May 26) – The head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee warned that a potential diplomatic agreement will not signal the end of Tehran’s challenges with Washington, characterizing the conflict between the two nations as “existential.”

Iran Warns Next Response Will Be ‘Far Worse’
WANA (May 26) – A senior Iranian military official warned that any fresh aggression against the country would trigger an unprecedented military response, threatening to expand the theater of operations beyond regional borders and completely halt oil exports from the Middle East.
