WANA (Apr 20) – The British Deputy Prime Minister said on Monday that despite pressure from Washington, London will not enter the U.S. war against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

David Lammy, the British Deputy Prime Minister, once again rejected any participation of this country in the U.S. war against the Islamic Republic of Iran early Monday morning.

During a speech at a conference in Barcelona (Spain), Lammy said that despite pressure from Washington, London will not enter a military conflict with Tehran.

He explained in this regard: “(U.S. President) Donald Trump tried to pressure the (British) Prime Minister (Keir Starmer) to change his position regarding Iran, but he will not succeed. This is not our war, and we will not get involved in it.”

The British official continued that Trump’s verbal attacks on Starmer are contemptible and aimed at pressuring London to change its stance toward Iran.

Lammy then stated that U.S. actions have not only failed to improve global instability but have worsened it.

According to reports, continuing his criticism of the Trump administration, he said that he [Trump] should “disagree politely with his allies” rather than attacking them on social media.
