WANA (Oct 31) – Lufthansa Airlines is set to resume its direct flights between Tehran and Frankfurt within the next two months, marking the German carrier’s return to Iranian airspace after a period of suspension.

 

The announcement was made during a meeting between the acting CEO of Imam Khomeini Airport City and Stefan Wörsman, Lufthansa’s station manager in Iran. According to officials, the discussions between the two sides have reached a positive conclusion, and the technical and operational preparations for the route’s relaunch are currently underway.

 

Ahoura Mohammadi, Head of Public Relations at Imam Khomeini Airport City, also announced that Austrian Airlines will restart its direct Vienna–Tehran flights on Monday, November 3rd, after several months of suspension.

 

Industry observers view the return of Lufthansa and other European airlines to Iranian skies as a positive sign of renewed international cooperation in the aviation sector and improving conditions in Iran’s air transport network.
