WANA (Jun 15) – Seyed Mohammad Marandi, an Iranian political analyst and a member of Iran’s negotiating team, has argued that Benjamin Netanyahu’s military action not only failed to achieve its intended objectives but also helped break the deadlock in ongoing negotiations

 

Marandi wrote in a post on X that claims suggesting a final agreement had already been reached before Israel’s attack were inaccurate.

 

“Contrary to some speculation, there was no final text before his criminal attack,” Marandi stated.

 

He further claimed that the attack prompted a shift in the U.S. position during negotiations, adding: “It was this attack that forced Trump to accept Iran’s demands, particularly regarding Lebanon.”

 

Describing Netanyahu’s decision as a strategic mistake, Marandi said the move had produced the opposite of its intended effect.

 

“Netanyahu’s folly backfired. This represents a historic retreat by the ‘Empire of Evil,’” he wrote.

 

Marandi also warned about the consequences of any future breach of a potential agreement, stating: “Any violation of the agreement will be met with a strong and decisive response from Iran and the Axis of Resistance.”
