Marandi to Trump: Accurate News, Tankers Paid Tolls and Passed
WANA (Apr 10) – Seyed Mohammad Marandi, a prominent Iranian political analyst, has reacted to the U.S. President’s remarks, confirming that Iran is officially collecting transit fees from vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
In a social media post, Marandi stated that the reports are “accurate and precise,” adding that since last night, a limited number of ships and tankers were granted permission to transit the strategic waterway only after paying the required tolls to Iranian authorities.
This confirmation comes as a direct response to a stern warning from U.S. President Donald J. Trump. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump addressed the reports, stating:
“There are reports that Iran is charging fees to tankers going through the Hormuz Strait — They better not be and, if they are, they better stop now!”
