WANA (May 04) – The spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a sharp warning to international shipping companies following recent statements from U.S. officials and the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) regarding Persian Gulf security.

General Hossein Mohebbi, the IRGC Spokesperson and Deputy of Public Relations, asserted that there has been no change in the management of the Strait of Hormuz.

He clarified that all civilian and commercial maritime movements remain safe and secure, provided they adhere to transit protocols issued by the IRGC Navy and follow designated routes in coordination with Iranian authorities.

However, the spokesperson delivered a stern ultimatum to those deviating from these guidelines, stating that any maritime activity contrary to the IRGC Navy’s declared principles would face “serious risks.” He emphasized that “violating vessels will be stopped with force.”

General Mohebbi concluded by stressing that it is essential for all global shipping companies and maritime insurance providers to pay strict attention to the official notices and advisories issued by the IRGC to ensure the safety of their assets in the region.

Yesterday, CENTCOM and the President of the United States announced that, effective Monday morning, they would initiate operations under the title “Project Liberty” to facilitate the passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

In reaction to this, the Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters declared: “The security of the Strait of Hormuz is in our hands, and any passage must be coordinated with our Armed Forces. We warn that any foreign armed force—particularly the aggressive U.S. military—intending to approach or enter the Strait of Hormuz will be targeted and attacked.”
