WANA (Sep 09) – The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported early Wednesday that it had received reports of a security incident involving a commercial vessel in the waters north of Oman in the Strait of Hormuz.

 

In an official advisory, the maritime agency stated that reports indicate the vessel was struck amid ongoing military activities in the region. Further details regarding the exact nature of the incident have not yet been released.

 

The UKMTO noted that an investigation into the details of the event remains ongoing, while advising all vessels operating in the vicinity to proceed with caution.
