WANA (May 14) – The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported a maritime incident approximately 38 nautical miles northeast of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates.

 

Media sources initially reported an explosion following an alleged drone attack on a vessel off the coast of Fujairah. Shortly afterward, however, the UKMTO announced that it had received a report regarding an incident involving a ship in the same area.

 

According to the organization, the vessel was allegedly seized while attempting to berth at Fujairah port and is now reportedly heading toward Iranian territorial waters.

 

No further details have yet been released regarding the incident.
