Marvdasht Petrochemical Facility Hit in U.S.-Israeli Strike
WANA (Apr 06) – The Marvdasht petrochemical complex in southern Iran was targeted in an attack described by local officials as carried out by “U.S. and Israeli forces,” according to reports.
The governor’s office in Marvdasht said the facility was struck a short time ago, resulting in a fire that was quickly brought under control in the early minutes of the incident.
Authorities stated that only a small section of the complex sustained minor damage, with no casualties reported. They added that operations at the facility have not been disrupted.
Officials also said that sensitive materials had been evacuated in advance and that emergency management teams were fully on alert, stressing that no threat currently exists for Marvdasht or nearby villages.
Separately, reports indicated that the South Pars Petrochemical Complex in Asaluyeh was also targeted in a simultaneous attack.
