Massive Crowds Gather for Iran’s Late Supreme Leader Farewell Ceremony
WANA (Jul 04) – According to published reports, the public farewell ceremony for the late leader of Iran officially began at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, at Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran, drawing large numbers of mourners from the early hours of the morning.
The doors of Imam Khomeini Mosalla were opened ahead of the officially announced start time for crowds who had gathered around the venue and nearby routes since Friday evening, waiting for the farewell ceremony to begin.
Field reports indicate that some mourners had arrived at the venue late at night to be among the first participants in the ceremony. At the same time, roads and streets leading to Imam Khomeini Mosalla witnessed a significant influx of people arriving from different parts of the capital and other cities across the country.

According to on-site observations, the areas surrounding the Mosalla have been filled with mourners making their way to the ceremony either on foot or through public transportation services.
The bodies of the late leader of the Islamic Revolution and his family members were also placed at the main ceremonial platform, allowing attendees to bid their final farewell. Following their placement, an atmosphere of grief and mourning spread throughout the venue.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the number of attendees continues to rise steadily, with large crowds from various parts of the country gathering at Imam Khomeini Mosalla only hours after the gates were opened, while the arrival of mourners is still ongoing.
