WANA (May 08) – New data from NASA has revealed large-scale fires at the locations of targets struck by the Iranian Navy last night.

Recent data from NASA’s FIRMS (Fire Information for Resource Management System) satellite indicates visible fires in the specific area where American destroyers were targeted by the IRGC Naval forces.

According to the latest FIRMS satellite data, a large fire previously identified in the Strait of Hormuz (Musandam Governorate) moved 6 kilometers diagonally to the left from its initial position over a period of 110 minutes.

This movement suggests a ship has caught fire and is drifting with the water currents. Additionally, another major fire has been identified 30 kilometers west of Larak Island.

These fires occurred in the exact same region where U.S. destroyers were the targets of attacks by the Iranian Navy.

Retaliatory Strikes Confirmed by Khatam al-Anbiya

Hours ago, the spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced that, in response to attacks on Iranian oil tankers and port shores, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran attacked U.S. military vessels east of the Strait of Hormuz and south of Chahbahar Port, inflicting significant damage upon them.

Discrepancy in UKMTO Reporting

Despite these developments, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported no incidents, a situation described as “unusual.”

The organization similarly refrained from intentionally announcing the details and transit location of a violating French ship that attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz and was targeted by the Iranian Navy in a previous incident.
