WANA (Apr 22) – Mehdi Farid was hanged today for extensive cooperation with the Mossad service following a judicial investigation and the confirmation of his final sentence by the Supreme Court.

Mehdi Farid, son of Amanullah, was executed after his case was reviewed and the final verdict was upheld. The individual held a management position within the Passive Defense Committee of a sensitive national organization. He established contact with the Israeli regime’s service through cyberspace and, due to his level of access, was quickly approved by a Mossad officer.

During the proceedings, the convict explicitly described the stages of his communication with Mossad. Farid first contacted an officer using the alias “Babak” via email. After exchanging several messages and Q&A sessions, the officer moved the communication to a specific software for phone calls.

In his court confessions, Farid admitted he was aware from the beginning who he was dealing with. Despite knowing the calling number belonged to an Israeli prefix, he continued the relationship.

Stages of Cooperation

The Mossad officer explicitly stated requirements for obtaining information from the organization, to which Farid agreed. After an initial assessment, he was instructed to create a new email under a pseudonym for continued secure communication. His cooperation occurred in several stages:

1. Providing information to prove himself to the service.

2. Providing information based on the officer’s requirements.

3. Special technical operations.

According to his confessions, Farid attempted to transfer sensitive data including:

  • Organizational charts and layouts of internal buildings.
  • Security status and details of passive defense structures.
  • Personnel identity information from the organization’s automation systems.

Operational Methods and Payments

Following the evaluation phase, he was tasked with meeting a woman at a coffee shop in Tehran. During this meeting, he received a pink package and left without speaking. Upon returning home, he was instructed on how to retrieve packages containing Euros. Per the officer’s guidance, he used a portion of the money to purchase a laptop, mobile phone, memory cards, and a card reader to specific specifications for “secure communication.”

He received video training on using these secure tools, including encryption and decryption. Communication was eventually conducted via a “Red Windows” system.

Focus on Sensitive Intelligence

The Israeli intelligence service focused on the sensitive organization where Farid worked. He was ordered to collect information specifically from the confidential secretariat of the document protection department.

Due to his full cooperation, Farid became an “official spy” for Mossad, receiving a fixed salary, bonuses, and variable pay based on the volume of information sent. The Mossad officer promised to extract him from the country after a specific period—a promise that later proved to be false.

Technical Sabotage and “Corruption on Earth”

The cooperation eventually entered a technical phase. Farid was given special training to infect the organization’s network and servers. Under the observation of Iranian intelligence agents, he attempted to fulfill these missions, which included:

1. Attempting to infect and drain network data using a hard drive provided by the service.

2. Attempting to install software on the organization’s server and sending a Trojan via a flash drive provided by the officer.

Reports from the Ministry of Intelligence and the IRGC Intelligence Organization indicate that the defendant repeatedly connected various equipment via USB, enabling external access.

The Verdict

Following his arrest and the discovery of his network of associates, the court reviewed the extensive documentation and Farid’s own confessions. The court found that his actions constituted Corruption on Earth, and his guilt was deemed certain.

The court sentenced Mehdi Farid to death for espionage in favor of the Israeli regime. The Supreme Court rejected his appeal, citing the hostile nature of his actions and the documented evidence found on his electronic devices.

The sentence was carried out early this morning following legal formalities.

According to the Judiciary Media Center, 19 other verdicts have been issued in Qom province related to cooperation with the enemy. Based on the crimes committed, these individuals were sentenced to prison terms such as 13, 6, 5, and 4 years, as well as the payment of fines.
