Message Exchange with the U.S. Continues but Does Not Mean Negotiations Have Begun
WANA (Nov 03) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, in his press conference today, emphasized: “No official message from the United States was conveyed to Iran during Mr. Ravanchi’s visit to Oman. The exchange of messages through intermediaries continues, but this in no way means the start of a negotiation process between Iran and the U.S.”
Iran’s Position on Palestine and the Ceasefire in Gaza
Baghaei referred to the continuation of Israeli attacks, stating: “Since the announcement of the ceasefire in Gaza, more than 200 innocent Palestinians have been killed and over 600 injured. What is happening in Gaza is not a war — it is a full-scale genocide.”
He criticized the “inaction of the UN Security Council and the countries supporting the Zionist regime,” stressing that such inaction “has emboldened Israel’s arrogance and impunity.”

Reaction to Documents Related to Jeffrey Epstein
In response to a question about documents attributed to Jeffrey Epstein, the spokesman said: “These emails, which speak of military action against Iran, are not new. They are part of the same anti-Iranian approach embedded in the U.S. decision-making system. What is noteworthy is that an individual with a record of corruption and human trafficking appears among the enemies of the Iranian nation.”
Criticism of U.S. Interventionist Policies
Baghaei added: “The U.S. Director of National Intelligence recently admitted that decades of interference in other countries’ internal affairs have led to violence, terrorism, and the destruction of legitimate systems. Unfortunately, American policymakers have yet to learn from these bitter experiences.”
He cited Syria, Libya, and Sudan as examples of the consequences of these policies, adding: “The current accusations are not about the crime itself but about revealing information — as if hiding the truth matters more than preventing atrocities.”

Regional and International Positions
Turning to developments in Latin America, Baghaei said: “We strongly condemn the U.S. military movements in the Caribbean and Latin America. No country has the right to violate another’s territorial integrity under the pretext of combating organized crime or drug trafficking.”
He warned that such actions “create a dangerous precedent at the international level” and pose “a serious threat to global peace.”
On Takht-Ravanchi’s Trip to Oman and the Imported Water Case
Responding to a question regarding allegations of “contaminated water imports from Iran to Oman,” Baghaei said: “This accusation is false and stems from a technical error. The Omani side has announced that it will soon issue a statement clarifying that no allegations concern Iranian imports.”

A Real Regional War with the Zionist Regime
Baghaei asserted: “There is no longer any doubt that the main threat in the region is the Zionist regime. In fact, the term ‘threat’ is no longer accurate — we are engaged in a real regional war with this regime. The ongoing attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and other countries confirm this reality.”
He also referred to the recent remarks by Oman’s foreign minister, noting that “regional countries have realized that ensuring their own security depends on intra-regional understanding and cooperation.”
Warning to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
Responding to recent remarks by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, Baghaei said: “Iran’s nuclear program has always been peaceful, and there is no sign of any military deviation. The Agency is expected to refrain from repeating political and unfounded claims and to focus on its technical responsibilities.”

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, emphasizing close Tehran–Baghdad relations, said at today’s press briefing: “In all our discussions with neighboring countries, including Iraq, security issues and matters of mutual national interest are addressed. We regard recent U.S. threats against resistance groups as interference in Iraq’s internal affairs—especially on the eve of elections, clearly aimed at creating tension and influencing this independent country’s domestic processes.”
He added: “Such actions contradict Iraq’s sovereignty and independence and reflect the interventionist and aggressive nature of U.S. policy. These threats will have no impact on the will of the Iraqi people.”

Washington — the Main Driver of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation
Responding to Western positions on nuclear programs, Baghaei said: “The stance of the U.S. and some Western states on nuclear proliferation is entirely contradictory and hypocritical. They pressure Iran’s peaceful program while themselves violating international disarmament obligations under the NPT and other treaties.”
He continued: “The primary contributors to the spread of weapons of mass destruction are those very states that possess them—particularly the United States and certain European countries.”
Conditions Not Yet Ripe for Meaningful Dialogue with the U.S.
Asked about the prospect of renewed talks with Washington, Baghaei stressed: “At present, conditions are not suitable for a meaningful dialogue. The rights of the Iranian nation must be respected, and the other side must recognize that the Islamic Republic, under international law and the NPT, enjoys inalienable rights.”
He added: “Iran will never forfeit its legitimate rights in any negotiation. Only when mutual respect and a realistic understanding of Iran’s rights are established can one speak of meaningful dialogue.”

Iran Following Up on Citizens’ Cases Abroad
Baghaei, commenting on the Iranian foreign minister’s meeting with the family of an Iranian national imprisoned in Turkey, said: “This meeting reflected the Foreign Ministry’s duty to support Iranian citizens abroad. We consider it our intrinsic responsibility to follow up on the cases of all Iranians facing difficulties anywhere in the world.”

Warning Against Foreign Interference in Sudan
Commenting on developments in Sudan, the spokesman warned: “Any foreign intervention in Sudan’s internal affairs would be destructive and could deepen the country’s instability. Experience shows that external meddling brings only chaos and bloodshed.”
Referring to the recent massacre of civilians in the city of Al-Fashir, he added: “We call on all parties to support the central government and fulfill their responsibilities appropriately.”

Iran Proudly Stands for Global Peace
Reacting to the recent remarks by the U.S. president, who said, ‘We have enough weapons to destroy the world 150 times,’ Baghaei stated: “Such statements reveal the inherently dangerous mindset behind U.S. policy. Experts’ Comments Do Not Reflect Iran’s Official Position
Responding to a question about expert opinions, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said: “Expressing views is free, and specialists can share their interpretations on various topics, including the nuclear program. However, these opinions in no way reflect the official position of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The country’s official stance is communicated through authorized spokespeople, and Iran’s nuclear program is entirely peaceful.”
He added: “Our society is open, and experts offer their views in good faith, but official positions are formulated within the framework of dignity, prudence, and wisdom and are presented internationally as the position of the government.”

Negotiations Depend on Mutual Interests
On the Foreign Ministry’s stance of not rushing into talks with the U.S., Baghaei stated: “When the other side seeks excess and refuses to acknowledge any limits, negotiations are not in the country’s interest. For a reasonable outcome, both parties must respect each other’s legitimate and rational concerns. Once this condition is met, Iran will use diplomatic tools.”
Appointment of UN Special Rapporteur on Iran Lacks Legitimacy
Regarding the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in Iran, he emphasized: “This is a political measure and lacks legitimacy.
