Missile Strike Hits Iran’s South Pars Gas Phases
WANA (Mar 18) – Eskandar Pasalar, governor of Asaluyeh, Bushehr province, said multiple phases of the South Pars Gas Field—including phases 3, 4, 5, and 6—were struck on Wednesday by projectiles attributed to what he described as a U.S.-Israeli attack.
He said the affected phases were taken offline to contain the fire, with emergency teams working to prevent further spread. Authorities reported no casualties and said the situation is under control, with a crisis management task force in place.
Following the attack, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued evacuation warnings for areas near key regional energy facilities, naming:
- SAMREF Refinery (Yanbu) in Saudi Arabia
- Al-Hosn Gas Field in the United Arab Emirates
- Jubail Petrochemical Complex in Saudi Arabia
- Mesaieed Petrochemical Complex and Mesaieed Holding Company in Qatar
- Ras Laffan Industrial City (including LNG facilities) in Qatar
The IRGC warned these sites could become “direct and legitimate targets” in the coming hours and urged civilians and workers to immediately leave the surrounding areas.
The statement added that regional governments had previously received “clear and repeated warnings” about the risks of escalating tensions and “gambling with the fate of their nations.”
Alireza Tangsiri, commander of the IRGC Navy, wrote on social media that public support inside Iran had strengthened military resolve and would reshape regional dynamics. He warned that, with an updated target list, oil facilities linked to the United States would be treated on par with American military bases and could come under fire, again urging civilians to leave such locations.
Meanwhile, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, confirmed that parts of Iran’s fuel and energy infrastructure in the south had been hit by what he described as an enemy missile strike.
He warned that if U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran’s fuel, gas, and economic infrastructure continue, Iran would respond forcefully by targeting the source of the aggression.
Zolfaghari emphasized that Iran considers strikes on the aggressors’ fuel, energy, and gas infrastructure to be legitimate and vowed “severe retaliation at the earliest opportunity,” adding that Iran’s armed forces are preparing a decisive response.
