WANA (Apr 07) – Iran’s Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani, speaking from the ruins of Shahid Beheshti University’s Laser and Plasma Research Institute, declared that Iran has entered its 39th day of “gallant resistance” against what she described as the world’s largest military force.

Mohajerani acknowledged the enemy’s technical military superiority but emphasized that Iranian defense forces have held their ground far longer than the three days predicted by aggressors. “We are standing firm for as long as necessary,” she told reporters during the press conference held at the site of the recent bombing.

Targeting National Identity and Infrastructure

The spokesperson highlighted a systematic campaign against Iran’s intellectual and social foundations, reporting that 30 universities and 218 health units have been targeted to date.

“Why does the enemy attack our bridges and universities?” Mohajerani asked. “Because these are the pillars of Iran’s power. They want to destroy 47 years of the Islamic Revolution’s achievements.” She specifically condemned attacks on medical heritage sites like the Pasteur Institute and emergency services, noting that the country has lost 24 “health defense martyrs” so far.

The Strait of Hormuz and Geopolitics

Addressing questions regarding the management of the Strait of Hormuz under a potential “new legal regime,” Mohajerani described the waterway as a “geopolitical reality” and a “blessed advantage” that must be utilized effectively.

She stated that all decisions regarding the Strait and foreign policy are being made in coordination between the branches of government and the Armed Forces, guided by the three principles of “Dignity, Wisdom, and Expediency”. She added that specific details regarding new management strategies would be announced once finalized.

Domestic Unity and Protection of Assets

Mohajerani noted that the current crisis has unified Iranians, including those living abroad. “Except for a small minority of ‘homeland sellers,’ all patriots are standing by their country today,” she said.

Regarding the protection of assets for Iranians living in Persian Gulf countries, she announced that the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance has prepared a plan for the secure transfer of capital and foreign currency back to Iran. The initiative reportedly includes significant tax and customs incentives to encourage the return of investments to the homeland.
