Mohajerani Rejects Claims on Larijani’s Daughter’s Expulsion
WANA (Jan 31) – Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani has rejected reports claiming that the daughter of Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, was expelled from a U.S. university, saying the allegations do not match reality.
According to Mohajerani, based on inquiries she made, the claims are unfounded. She said Larijani’s daughter continued her education abroad without using government facilities and holds specialist and subspecialist qualifications in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology.
Reports indicate that she had been in Iran before the allegations were raised, and recent media atmosphere surrounding the issue was unrealistic.
She also said that a request for her return to Tehran University was submitted in April last year, and that her case has been undergoing legal review in recent months.
She noted that the process began before recent media speculation and that administrative procedures at the university have now been completed.
According to Mohajerani, following final approval by Iran’s Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, she is expected to begin her activities in the near future.
