Mohajerani Responds to Trump: “Real Engagement Requires Action, Not Just Words”
WANA (Oct 15) – Fatemeh Mohajerani, spokeswoman for the Iranian government, responding to recent remarks by Donald Trump on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting, said: “We do not necessarily shape our diplomatic agenda solely based on rhetoric. Diplomatic matters become meaningful when there are concrete actions behind them; the people and we have been hurt by this many times.”
Referring to the impact of sanctions on the country’s economy, she added: “If today we are talking about gasoline, imbalances, or other economic issues, it is because of the severity of the sanctions. For about 15 years our country has endured the harshest and most brutal sanctions, while some only speak of engagement in words. Real engagement is not like that; they must show some operational action other than bombing for us to understand that they are truly interested in engagement.”

Mohajerani went on to explain the situation regarding oil exports: “Our oil exports continue. Small-scale refineries producing gas condensates experienced some fluctuations, which have now been resolved.”
When asked about Iran’s decision on attending the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, the government spokeswoman said: “Our conduct in the international arena is not a matter on which only the government decides. The government’s views and those of other bodies were presented, and the overall conclusion was that the president would not attend the Sharm el-Sheikh summit.”

Sharm el-Sheikh: Peace or a Stage for Power Play?
WANA (Oct 14) – The 2025 Sharm el-Sheikh Summit was less a symbol of America’s return to the Middle East than a reflection of the inner crisis of the Western order itself. What was presented as a “conference for Middle East peace” turned, in practice, into a theatrical — almost comic — display of U.S. […]
Earlier, on October 13, Donald Trump, in a speech to the Israeli Knesset, claimed that Iran seeks cooperation and an agreement with the United States and set out three conditions: recognizing Israel’s right to exist, stopping support for the “axis of resistance” — which he labeled terrorist groups — and halting Iran’s nuclear program. He said, “Whenever you (Iran) are ready, we are ready [to make a deal]!”
The U.S. president repeated his remarks in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, saying: “I am ready for peace with Iran, when they are ready! That is the whole thing I do in my life. I make deals. I think Iran will come along with us! They have been hurt. They need help. I would like to lift sanctions when they are ready.”
