Mossad Agent Arrested in Tehran Metro, Iranian Police Announce
WANA (Jun 29) – Amid intensified efforts by Iranian security and intelligence forces to counter foreign espionage, a Mossad operative has been arrested at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini metro station, police spokesperson Brigadier General Saeed Montazerolmahdi announced today.
According to the spokesperson, the suspect was apprehended while attempting to conduct espionage activities in the heart of the capital’s transportation network. The arrest is part of a broader crackdown on suspected intelligence operations linked to Israel.
Among recent arrests cited by police are individuals accused of sending precise locations of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) headquarters and the private residence of a high-ranking official in exchange for $2,000.
In another incident, a suspect was detained in the city of Ashkhaneh for photographing sensitive sites, including a wheat silo, a flour factory, and other strategic facilities. That operation was carried out by the Intelligence Police of North Khorasan Province.
In yet another case, security forces intercepted a group reportedly affiliated with the Israeli regime that was operating explosive drones and quadcopters in the deserts surrounding Tehran. The suspects were found in possession of remote-control devices, miniature drones, and explosive materials.
The police spokesperson further revealed that the arrested Mossad agent had been engaged in manufacturing drones and micro aerial vehicles in western Tehran Province.
He had allegedly been connected to a local operative network and was compiling intelligence on Iran’s air defense systems. The suspect also reportedly transmitted highly detailed geolocation data of sensitive areas before being apprehended by the Tehran Intelligence Police.
