WANA (Dec 16) – Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri met with Mojtaba Amani, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Lebanon, to review the latest political developments in Lebanon and the region, bilateral relations, and repeated violations by the Israeli regime.

 

During the meeting, the two sides discussed recent political developments, the general situation in Lebanon and the wider region, as well as relations between Lebanon and Iran.

 

Following the meeting, Ambassador Amani said the talks were held as part of his ongoing consultations and discussions with Lebanese officials.

 

He noted that the discussions focused on developments in Lebanon and the region, particularly the repeated violations by the Israeli regime of the ceasefire agreement.

 

The Iranian ambassador emphasized Iran’s support for Lebanon’s independence and its commitment to preserving the country’s unity and territorial integrity.

 

Amani added that the meeting also addressed prospects for Iran’s participation in Lebanon’s reconstruction process and support for the Lebanese people.

 

He further said the two sides discussed the resumption of direct flights between Iran and Lebanon via Iranian or Lebanese airlines, a move that could facilitate travel for tourists, students, and businesspeople between the two countries.
