NASA Imagery Shows Fire at Qatar’s Ras Laffan Gas Facility After Strikes
WANA (Mar 19) – Satellite imagery from NASA indicates fires at parts of the Ras Laffan industrial complex in Qatar following reported overnight attacks.
Data from NASA’s FIRMS (Fire Information for Resource Management System) shows multiple hotspots at the Ras Laffan gas facility, suggesting outbreaks of fire in several areas of the site.
The satellite system, which detects thermal anomalies, confirmed the presence of fires within sections of the strategic complex.
Ras Laffan is considered one of the world’s largest gas processing and export hubs, playing a critical role in global energy supply. Any disruption to its operations could have significant economic implications for international markets.
