Netanyahu’s Speech to Empty Chairs at the UN
WANA (Sep 26) – Today, the Israeli Prime Minister repeated his previous claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran and resistance forces at the United Nations, while most of the audience left the hall in protest against the genocide in Gaza.
During the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, as Benjamin Netanyahu delivered his speech, several delegations walked out of the chamber.
In his remarks, Netanyahu leveled accusations against Iran regarding the development of nuclear and missile programs. He also unveiled a strange move, allegedly in support of Israeli captives, claiming that he had ordered loudspeakers to be installed in various parts of Gaza so that the sound of his speech could be heard by Israeli prisoners held by resistance forces.
Netanyahu, who has been the main obstacle to a prisoner exchange deal with the Palestinian resistance movement, insisted that over 90 percent of Palestinians—both in Gaza and the West Bank—had supported the October 7 attack. He went on to say that “they were dancing on rooftops,” and even alleged that Palestinians had supported the September 11, 2001 attacks as well.

Netanyahu’s Claim About Iran’s Attempt to Assassinate Trump
Netanyahu accused Iran of expanding its nuclear weapons and missile programs with the aim of destroying Israel and threatening the United States. He stressed that UN Security Council sanctions on Iran must be renewed and thanked former U.S. President Donald Trump for supporting action against Iran.
Claiming that Iran had tried not once, but twice, to assassinate the U.S. president, Netanyahu said: “President Trump and I pledged to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and missiles. We achieved that goal and saved millions of lives.” He added, however: “We must remain vigilant and not allow them to rebuild their capabilities. Tomorrow, the Security Council must reimpose sanctions on Iran.”

Netanyahu: Western Media Supports Hamas
Turning again to the issue of Israeli captives in Gaza, Netanyahu said that 48 hostages remain in the hands of resistance forces. Despite failing to secure their release, he claimed that he was doing everything possible for them.
He called on Hamas to surrender and hand over its weapons—a demand firmly rejected by Palestinian resistance groups. Netanyahu asserted that, if Hamas surrendered, Israel would assume security control of the Gaza Strip.
He further claimed that Israel is feeding Gaza’s residents, alleging that “if Palestinians are hungry, it is because Hamas is stealing their food.”
Defending against global criticism of Israel, Netanyahu added: “Unfortunately, Western media stands with Hamas.”
