WANA (Jul 08) – Maritime tracking sources have revealed the identities of three of the five commercial vessels damaged in a series of explosions targeting shipping lanes in the southern Strait of Hormuz over the past 48 hours.

 

According to verified maritime data and distress logs, the following vessels were struck while transiting the strategic waterway:

 

Al Rekayyat (Qatar): This liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, operated by Nakilat—the shipping arm of Qatar’s gas industry—was struck near the coast of Oman.

 

In a distress signal, the ship’s captain reported that the engine room caught fire and filled with smoke following a drone strike. The crew members are safe and have been successfully evacuated.

 

Wedyan (Saudi Arabia): This Saudi-flagged Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) sustained damage off the coast of Oman. Reports indicate the vessel was targeted while exiting the Strait of Hormuz.

 

Al-Mariyah (UAE): This United Arab Emirates-owned liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker was also confirmed as one of the vessels struck in the recent wave of attacks.

 

Beyond these three identified tankers, at least two other commercial ships have been targeted.

 

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that an unidentified projectile struck an additional tanker, causing structural damage. Furthermore, shipping sources revealed that another unreported attack took place on an additional vessel during the nights of July 5 and 6.
