WANA (Jun 08) – Following the United States’ imposition of fresh sanctions on Iran, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the new sanctions reflect the deep-rooted hostility of the U.S. government toward the Iranian people.

Baghaei strongly condemned the U.S. Treasury Department’s recent move to sanction several Iranian and non-Iranian individuals and entities on the pretext of alleged cooperation with Iran in banking and commercial activities.

He emphasized that these new sanctions, imposed within the framework of Washington’s inhumane and failed “maximum pressure” policy, are not only illegal and in violation of international legal principles and norms, but also serve as further evidence of the enduring and profound enmity of the ruling U.S. regime toward the Iranian nation.

Baghaei asserted that such sanctions, aimed at intensifying pressure on ordinary Iranians and depriving them of their fundamental human rights, will only strengthen the Iranian people’s determination to defend their legitimate rights and interests in the face of U.S. aggression.
