WANA (Mar 11) – In a recent telephone conversation between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Pezeshkian emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran has no intentions of engaging in conflict with neighboring countries.

He stressed that Iran’s military actions are solely in response to attacks, and that U.S. military bases, from which these assaults originate, will be targeted in line with Iran’s legitimate right to self-defense.

This statement comes in the wake of ongoing tensions and military aggressions involving the U.S. and Israel, which have targeted Iranian infrastructure and led to significant casualties, including the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and innocent civilians.

During the conversation, President Pezeshkian congratulated the people of Pakistan on the month of Ramadan, wishing them acceptance of their fasting and prayers. He also expressed hopes for peace and tranquility for all Muslim nations around the world.

The President continued by addressing the recent developments, stating that while Iran was deeply engaged in negotiations to resolve ongoing issues, it was once again attacked by the United States and the Israeli regime. This military assault, which he described as “criminal,” resulted in the death of Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and several innocent Iranian citizens, including students.

Pezeshkian added that the attackers, taking advantage of the borders of neighboring countries, targeted Iran’s infrastructure, public places, hospitals, and schools. He mentioned the attack on a school in Minab, where 168 innocent students were killed in a barbaric assault.

The Iranian President emphasized Iran’s defense strategy, stating that the Islamic Republic has no intention of targeting or engaging with neighboring countries. He clarified that only the military bases from which Iran is attacked will be targeted, within the framework of legitimate self-defense.

President Pezeshkian also issued a warning, urging the international community and global organizations to address the primary causes of this imposed war and military aggression against Iran. He stressed that failing to do so would destabilize global order and security.

Furthermore, the Iranian President expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by Pakistan’s government, people, and political and religious figures in condemning the military aggression by the U.S. and Israel.

In response, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan congratulated Iran on the occasion of Ramadan and expressed hopes that the blessings of the month would bring peace and harmony to the Muslim nations.

The Pakistani Prime Minister reiterated his country’s firm stance in condemning the U.S. and Israeli aggression against Iran. He also expressed deep solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran, offering condolences for the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, and congratulated the Iranian government and people on the appointment of Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader, expressing hopes for continued prosperity under his leadership.

Prime Minister Sharif concluded by reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to ongoing efforts to enhance and strengthen relations between the two neighboring Muslim countries, as well as improving relations among Islamic countries in the region.

Both leaders also stressed the importance of continuing to expand bilateral relations between Tehran and Islamabad and emphasized the need for ongoing high-level diplomatic consultations.
