WANA (May 11) – Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari outlined what he described as Iran’s “fundamental preconditions” for entering any potential negotiations with the United States, stressing that Tehran will not engage in any talks unless these demands are fully met.

The commander of the Baqiatallah Cultural and Social Headquarters said Iran’s response to the United States is based on five main demands, which he described as the “legitimate and natural rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Referring to the history of relations between Tehran and Washington, Jafari said the Americans have demonstrated “bad faith and malice” over the years by failing to honor their commitments. He argued that setting clear conditions for any future negotiations is therefore a natural step aimed at safeguarding the rights of the Iranian people.

He also emphasized that the Islamic Republic’s position is backed by public opinion inside Iran, claiming that despite differences in political views and preferences, various segments of society agree on the need to resist U.S. pressure.

The former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps then listed Iran’s five preconditions for any potential negotiations: a complete end to war on all fronts, the lifting of sanctions, the release of Iran’s frozen assets, compensation for war-related damages, and recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

He stressed that until these demands are fulfilled, “there will be no further negotiations,” describing the conditions as “the message of the Iranian nation to the U.S. government.”
