WANA (Apr 17) – Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader said in this week’s sermon that, in his view, “no one dares to attack Iran anymore,” adding that even if such an attack were to occur, it would “lead nowhere.”

He emphasized the importance of “trust in God” and “public presence” as two key factors in confronting external threats, particularly in the current ceasefire environment. He said sustained public participation can help neutralize foreign pressure.

Referring to early Islamic history, including the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, he noted that alongside warfare, the Prophet of Islam also pursued peace agreements and ceasefires, adding that these conflicts were largely defensive in nature.

In another part of his remarks, he strongly criticized U.S. President Donald Trump, describing him as a “symbol of dishonesty” and arguing that such figures should be approached with skepticism.

He also stressed the need to follow the leadership’s direction, saying that alignment with the leadership’s stance is essential under current conditions.

Addressing recent negotiations, he said the Iranian negotiating team left the talks after encountering what he described as “excessive demands” from the United States, claiming the opposing side is attempting to achieve through negotiations what it failed to secure on the battlefield.

He concluded by thanking government and judicial institutions for their performance and called for continued firm action against what he described as “enemy-affiliated elements,” noting that the public expects such efforts to continue decisively.
