No Power Has the Right to Interfere in Iran’s Missile Capability
WANA (Sep 27) – General Reza Talaie-Nik, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Defence, firmly rejected pressure from the U.S. and Western countries to limit Iran’s missile capabilities, emphasizing that Iran’s national security and interests are red lines, and no foreign intervention in the country’s defence power is acceptable.
In an interview, Talaie-Nik referred to persistent U.S. and Western demands to negotiate Iran’s missile program and reduce the range of its missiles, stating, “The national interests and security form the foundation of the Iranian nation’s missile power, and any foreign interference in defining the country’s defensive and security capabilities is impossible.”
He added, “One of the national principles in Iran is safeguarding defense capacities to counter possible threats.”
Therefore, he stressed, “No foreign power’s intervention in determining the missile capability proportional to the country’s defense needs will be accepted.”
This statement comes as Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, recently noted Western efforts to include missile issues in negotiations with Iran, saying, “The Americans insist that we must negotiate over our missile industry.”
